When FBT makes sense
- TikTok Shop is your main channel and you do not need the same stock for Amazon, eBay or your website.
- You run frequent LIVE sessions or viral campaigns and want fast delivery handled by TikTok’s network.
- You do not want to manage dispatch and returns for TikTok orders.
- Your products are simple to store and ship and fit TikTok’s FBT requirements.
When shipping yourself, or through a 3PL, makes sense
- You sell on several channels. One stock pool avoids splitting inventory and running out on one channel while stock sits idle on another.
- Branding matters to you. Your own mailers, inserts and thank-you cards make every unboxing feel like your brand.
- You want control over your stock. Stock you can see, count and move is easier to manage when demand changes.
- Your products are bulky, heavy or need special handling. A 3PL can match each parcel to a suitable carrier.
Using both: the hybrid approach
Some sellers send their fastest TikTok products to FBT and keep the rest of their range, plus backup stock, with a 3PL. That way, a sudden spike on TikTok does not leave Amazon or website orders without stock, and FBT stock can be topped up from the main warehouse.
Planning for viral spikes and LIVE sessions
TikTok sales can jump overnight. Whichever route you choose:
- Tell your fulfilment partner when you plan promotions, LIVE sessions or creator campaigns.
- Keep enough stock where it can be shipped quickly, and know how long it takes to restock FBT.
